Curriculum

Our teacher, Lindsey Buchanan, has carefully structured each day in the preschool program to provide a variety of playful learning experiences.

The general goal of the program is to provide opportunities for each child to see him/herself in relation to his/her own community and the multi-cultural world.

Specific aims of the daily program include:

  • Providing a loving, caring and stimulating environment;
  • Providing opportunities for indoor and outdoor physical exercise;
  • Providing opportunities for creative expression and use of basic materials through art activities, rice, water, sand and block play;
  • Providing opportunities for musical expression with the use of song, dance, and musical instruments;
  • Providing opportunities for language development through stories, poems, conversation and dramatic play;
  • Providing opportunities for investigation and discovery through science;
  • Providing opportunities for social development and an awareness of "self" in relation to the "group".
